Do you struggle to stay motivated when things aren't exactly panning out the way you had imagined? You plan one thing, and the outcome is so different to what you had initially expected. In those times, its a real battle to keep pushing ,but here is how to stay sane:

GET YOUR MIND RIGHT

Make sure you're in an "okay"place mentally, because once you allow your state of mind get messed up, it's harder to get back up from there!  It's best to rely on two things ; Hope & Faith! Yes I'm a christian, so this remedy comes easier and more naturally to me, but you can also think about it in a literal sense with no biblical attachments. Let's get deeper into this:

HOPE /həʊp/

The Oxford definition of Hope is "a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen", and this is what you need to be feeling! Even if things are not so ideal at the moment, you need to EXPECT that everything will be fine!

FAITH /feɪθ/

Going back to definitions, Faith is having total confidence or trust in something happening!  This part can be difficult but you have to trust that everything will be okay, it sounds difficult but decide in your mind that it’s simple!

TAKE ACTIVE STEPS

IDENTIFY WHAT'S NOT WORKING OUT

The best thing to do when it seems like everything is just off,  is identifying why its so hard for you to get to where you've been trying to reach. More often than not, we have these little annoying habits that pull us further and further away from our end goal, and the sooner we identify these pain areas, the better. Here’s a mini example.

FIX IT

RE-STRATEGISE

You need to re-strategise and create a feasible and realistic plan to stick to your goal/task!

GET RID OF YOUR TRIGGERS

Figure out the things that trigger your bad habits. If you’re on Snapchat when you should be finishing a 10-page report, then your phone is the trigger that needs to be as far as possible! (Check out article on overcoming bad habits for more help with this )

BE AROUND THE RIGHT PEOPLE

It’s super helpful to be around people who are willing to support you in journey to breaking bad habits. Surrounding yourself with People who don’t understand the importance of what you’re trying to do can be really damaging!

STAY POSITIVE

Remain optimistic! You’re not perfect so you might not get it right all the time. Just remember to stay strong whenever you feel yourself being pulled back.
